The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course - Teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely. This is an 8 hour course split over two days: Session-1 is Wednesday, April 17th from 5:30PM to 8:30PM and Session-2 is Sunday, April 21st from 3:00PM to 8:30PM.
There is a limit of 10 students for this class.
During classroom instruction absolutely no ammunition is permitted in the clubhouse. Leave it in your vehicle. All firearms must be in a case/box in the classroom and on the range.
NOTE: If you do not have a firearm, we recommend that you do not buy one before this class. We will have several to use with ammunition at no charge. We will cover how to choose a firearm for your particular needs.

Who can participate: |
The course is open to members and non-members over the age of 12.
|
Cost:
|
The cost is $140 per participant plus $10 facility fee for those who are not MCFG members(or those included in their membership).
Multiple Student Discount: A discount of $20 will be applied to each student when multiple students register. IE: Family members, couples, etc.(Cannot be combined with any other discount).
First Responder and Educator Discount: A discount of $20 will be applied to any Active/Retired Military, Firefighter, Law Enforcment Officer, EMT, etc. as well as current school teachers or administrators and their spouse and children 12 to 17 years old.
(Cannot be combined with any other discount).
Cancellation Policy: Payments are 100% refundable if you cancel prior to 14 days of the course, 50% refundable if you cancel between 7 to 14 days of the course and non-refundable if you cancel within 7 days of the course.

What to bring:
|
- A positive attitude and a desire to learn how to operate a handgun safely.
- Eye and ear protection. Ballistic/safety glasses and earplugs/earmuffs are required while on the range.

A handgun (pistol or revolver) in any caliber allowed at the club. For a list see the club's approved cartridges list . If you do not have a handgun, there are "loaners" available at no cost. Please indicate that you need a handgun in the "Special Needs" section of the online registration form.
- Ammunition. At least 50 rounds of brand new (non-reloaded) ammunition is required. Inexpensive Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) "range ammo" such as "Winchester White Box" is perfectly fine.
- Cleaning supplies including a cleaning rod, jags and bore-brush for your caliber, cleaning solution, gun oil and cleaning patches (synthetic or cotton). If you do not know what type of cleaning kit to buy, send an email to info@TrainToBeSafe.com .
- A hat with a brim such as a baseball cap or similar.

At least 50 rounds of ammunition is required for this course.

Start Time:
|
7:45 AM for coffee and donuts with instruction starting at 8:00AM sharp and running at least 8 hours. A 10 minute break will be given after 50 minutes of instruction. There will also be a 30 minute break at/around noon for a pizza lunch which will be provided at no extra cost. |

Failure to obey all rules may result in expulsion from the course without a refund.

In addition, there are specific rules for this course:
- During the classroom instruction absolutely no ammunition is permitted in the clubhouse. Leave it in your vehicle. All firearms must be in a case/box in the classroom and on the range.
- Alcohol or illegal drugs are not to be taken before or during the course.
- Prescription and over-the-counter drugs that may impair your ability to safely operate a firearm should not be taken before or during the course. If the drug warns against operating machinery while taking it, you should not operate a firearm either.
- There will be no smoking allowed in the clubhouse or while shooting on the range.
